 - Piano Solo -

      Baby Category 5 - 6 years old candidates

Free programme up to 5 minutes,

with or without accompaniment

       PreCategory 7 - 8 years old candidates

Free programme up to 7 minutes

      I Category 9 - 10 years old candidates

Free programme up to 9 minutes

      II Category 11 - 12 years old candidates

Minimum of 2 pieces of different character up to 11 minutes

      III Category 13 - 14 years old candidates

Minimum of 2 pieces of different character up to 15 minutes

      IV Category 15 - 16 years old candidates

Minimum of 2 different epochs up to 20 minutes

      V Category 17 - 18 years old candidates

Minimum of 3 different epochs up to 25 minutes

      VI Category 19 - 24 years old candidates

Minimum of 3 different epochs up to 35 minutes

 

   - Piano Duo -

  Four Hands

       PreCategory 7 - 8 years old candidates

Free programme up to 5 minutes

      I Category 9 - 10 years old candidates

Free programme up to 7 minutes

      II Category 11 - 12 years old candidates

Free programme up to 9 minutes

      III Category 13 - 14 years old candidates

Free programme up to 12 minutes

      IV Category 15 - 16 years old candidates

Free programme up to 15 minutes

      V Category 17 - 18 years old candidates

Free programme up to 20 minutes

      VI Category 19 - 24 years old candidates

Free programme up to 25 minutes

Malta International  Music Competition 2026

Laureate Prize - III and IV Category - 

- free participation at Masterclass 2026 (Organised by MPA)

Laureate Prize - V & VI Category -  

- Recital at Malta International Piano Festival 2026

      First Prize - from 95 to 99,99 points

      Second Prize - from 90 to 94,99 points

      Third Prize - from 85 to 89,99 points

      Certificate of participation - less than 85 points

        

        Award for the most successful professor

   Baby, PreCat I,  & II. Category:

The number of prizes is unlimited.

III & IV Category:

- 3 First Prizes

- 4 Second Prizes

- 5 Third Prizes

V &VI Category:

- 1 First Prize

- 2 Second Prizes

- 3 Third Prizes

Laureate* Prize - Participant with 100 Points

          Documents required with this application:  

 

         Proof of age:

Birth certificate, Passport or ID card; high resolution portrait photo and proof of payment.

   Applicants under the age of 18 the signature of a parent/guardian is required.

     Please submit your application with documents required to:

   All programmes must be performed from memory.

         (This applies only to Piano Solo)

      Application fee for Piano Duo is for both competitors in total.

For Online Competition:

  Please make sure that you send your performance as one YouTube link only

The video can not be older than 6 months.

      Please note that the video can not be edited in any way
