 Biography

Ivana Štimac Agius is Croatian pianist. She was born in Split where she obtained her music education at school of music Josip Hatze. She continued her studies in class of prof.Ante Milić at the Music Academy,University of Zagreb, where she obtained her Bachelor degree in piano performance and piano teaching (2003). Being one of the top students of her generation, she has pursued numerous performances on eminent music festivals and competitions. Highlights of her performances include: performance of J.S.Bach’s piano concerto in d-minor with Chamber Orchestra of Music Academy in HGZ (Croatian Music Institute), appearance at Virtuoso Music Festival in Evenings of Claude Debussy, recital on Music Festival Milko Kelemen in Slatina, “Mladi za mlade” premiere performance of a composition composed for her- ”Storming”,piano suita composed by Mihael Paar. In 2009 she obtained her Master’s degree in Piano Performance in class of prof. Stella Slejanska at Academy of Arts in Skopje, Macedonia. Ivana has participated in masterclasses with eminent international artists: W. Blankenheim, G. Gruzman, K. Gekić, R. Becker…
She frequently performs as soloist and chamber musician. She has given performances all over Croatia. Besides her performances in Croatia, she is also regularly performing in Austria, Germany, Switzerland,Italy, North Macedonia and Malta. Since summer in year 2013 till summer 2016 she was working as an accompanist and lecturer in chamber music at Summer Music School “Le altre note” in Valtellina, Italy. On this summer festival she has performed with famous musicians like: Stefano Parrino (flute), Shiry Rashkovsky (viola) and Luigi Magistrelli (clarinet). She also performed with German string quartet “Pegasos” Robert Schumann’s piano quintet in E-flat major, op.44.in Split in Croatia and in Allgeau in Germany. Ivana has won national and international prizes as solo pianist and chamber musician (piano four hands and piano trio with flute and cello). She won absolute prize two times. In period from year 2003. till 2014. she has worked as piano teacher at the school of music Josip Hatze in Trogir and Kaštela in her home country. Since year 2014. she is based in Germany (Stuttgart) where she works as a concert performer and piano teacher at Jugend Musikschule Freiberg am Neckar/Pleidelsheim. Her students are regular receiving prizes at national and international piano competitions.
