Pierre Louis Attard
MPO ACADEMY – VIOLIN
Born in a highly musical family, Pierre Louis Attard graduated as an Ian Tomlin scholar with first-class honours from Edinburgh Napier University, also receiving the Hebberts Prize for strings. A BOV Joseph Calleja Foundation scholar, he subsequently graduated with a Master of Music degree with Distinction in violin performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama. Attard also plays the viola.
Attard is a member of the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra, and in the past years he formed part of the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra and was a leader of the Royal Welsh Chamber Orchestra and the Malta Youth Orchestra, amongst others. He also teaches violin at the Gozo Visual & Performing Arts School.
Attard plays on a fine German violin by Sebastian Klotz c.1750.
